What’s Your J-Talent?

Online Talent Contest

Are you dreaming about your next holiday in Japan? Do you feel like it’s way too far away? That dream could be closer than you thought! All you have to do is show us your Japan-related talent for your chance to win a Japanese experience near you!

The Japan Foundation, Sydney is proud to announce the What’s Your J-Talent? contest. From July 9 – September 16, 2020, residents of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands will have the opportunity to share their Japan-related skills and win some great prizes. Simply record a video that is two minutes or less of your talent connected or related to Japan through art, culture or language, upload it to YouTube and submit the link to enter.

Contest Details

What’s Your J-Talent? consists of four entry categories: Japanese Language, Lifestyle, Traditional Arts and Culture and Pop Culture. Each category will have a grand prize, fan favourite and staff pick winner, which means there are tonnes of prizes to be won! Distinguished entrants may even be invited to The Japan Foundation, Sydney to record their performance in person (subject to travel restrictions).

While visits to Japan may be a little out of reach, The Japan Foundation, Sydney is still dedicated to “Bringing Japan to You”. Grand prize winners in each category will be invited to enjoy a Japanese experience closer to home, with each prize package tailored to the individual winners. Experiences may include accommodation at Japanese style inns, visits to hot springs, online shopping at Japanese retailers or dining experiences at Japanese restaurants – all without going all the way to Japan! 

Fan favourite and staff pick winners will receive prize packs including The Japan Foundation, Sydney merchandise, Harvest Index Japanese tea, Japanese sweets, and a $50 Kinokuniya voucher.

Whether you’re a budding Tik-Tok star wanting to show off your cosplay prowess or the top of your Japanese language class and are itching to show off your speech skills, it’s time to get creative, get involved and show us your J-talent!
