Free Kamishibai Teaching Resource

The Japan Foundation, Sydney has designed and produced a kamishibai story pack, titled 「わらしべ長者」(The Straw Millionaire) . The Straw Millionaire is presented on traditional Japanese picture storyboards and is an effective and fun way to engage students who are learning Japanese. This teaching resource includes 12 colourful picture boards with bilingual narration for the story on the back of each storyboard.

We are pleased to announce that a「わらしべ長者」kamishibai pack will be donated to any Australian school that submits a request, until stock runs out. Please note that the postage costs are at your own expense and donations will be limited to one kamishibai pack per school.
