ABOUT JSAA 2019

The Japanese Studies Association of Australia’s 2019 Conference (JSAA 2019) will be held at Monash University, July 1 – 4. The JSAA holds conferences biennially and attendance is open to members and non-members alike. For more information, see the conference website.

JSAA 2019 is proudly supported by The Japan Foundation. 

WHERE WE’LL BE

The Japan Foundation, Sydney will be participating in JSAA 2019 in a few different ways. Sessions we are directly involved in as organisers or speakers are listed below.

July 1, 3:10pm – 3:50pm (Postgraduate Workshop)
Seminar: Applying for Fellowships and Grants

Insights into the assessment process for competitive grants and fellowships.

July 2, 3:30pm – 5:00pm (Session 3:2, Room H236)
Panel: New Voices in Japanese Studies

Three early-career scholars present their work, as published in  The Japan Foundation, Sydney’s peer-reviewed journal, New Voices in Japanese Studies.

July 3, 1:00pm – 3:30pm (Session 7:2, Room H236)
Student Mobility Forum

A short presentation of the report from a roundtable discussion on student mobility between Japan and Australia (held at ASAA 2018), followed by open discussion.

July 4, 1:00pm – 3:30pm (Session 11.4, Room H222)
Editors’ Roundtable

Insights into the editorial processes of peer-reviewed journals.

‘New Voices in Japanese Studies’ Trade Table

Showcasing New Voices in Japanese Studies, The Japan Foundation, Sydney’s peer-reviewed journal for emerging researchers.
