Japan in a Minute
Online Video Contest
Missing Japan? Are you already mentally planning your next holiday there? While travel is off the cards for now, it doesn’t mean you can’t experience Japan right at home in Australia or New Zealand! All you have to do is show us what you love or miss about Japan for the chance to win one of many Japan-inspired experiences and prizes.
The Japan Foundation, Sydney is proud to announce the Japan in a Minute Online Video Contest. From July 2 – September 8 2021, residents of Australia and New Zealand will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity and win some great Japan-inspired experiences and prizes that can be enjoyed at home. Simply record a short video showing us what you love or miss about Japan, upload it to YouTube and submit the link to enter.
The Japan in a Minute Online Video Contest has no specific categories, so entrants are free to let their imaginations run wild! Simply show us what your “Japan in a Minute” looks like – your video could be about your favourite aspect of Japan, a special Japan-related skill you have, or simply what you miss about Japan at the moment.
There are up to $5,000 in prizes to be won, including ryokan stays, onsen visits, fine dining vouchers, art classes and more! Grand prize, second prize, third prize and honourable mention prize winners will be invited to choose a prize of their choice to the specified value.
Fan favourite and staff pick winners prize packs are also up for grabs, including The Japan Foundation, Sydney merchandise, a $100 Madman voucher, Japanese snacks and more.
Whether you love to cook anime-inspired food or have a knack for writing haiku poems, don’t miss this chance to showcase your creativity and win! Bonus points for non-native Japanese speakers who are confident enough to showcase their Japanese-language skills in their submission.
