VOD Registration: Teaching speech writing for beginner level Japanese

In this seminar, we will explore step by step the fundamentals of speech writing for beginners onwards using the book “Speech for Basic Level Japanese” produced by the Japan Foundation. In both Session A and Session B, you will learn even beginner students can create speeches based on the language they have learned, according to topics and content supplemented by vocabulary.  Let’s explore ways of enabling your students to do this!
This seminar is recommended for secondary and tertiary teachers but all Japanese teachers are welcome!

基本編、応用編ともに学習した文型などをもとにトピックや内容に応じで語彙を補充しながら初級レベルの学習者でもスピーチを仕上げることができます。そのための指導方法について一緒に見てみましょう！

Speaker: Mami Saito

Mami Saito worked as a Senior Language Consultant in the Japanese Language Department for The Japan Foundation, Sydney between June 2017 to September 2020, and she was involved in Japanese language education support across Australia. She has extensive experience teaching Japanese and conducting teachers training/ICT programs in Canada, Indonesia and Japan. Her teaching experience covers a wide range of levels from language schools to high schools and universities. She has also served as a speech contest judge in Asian countries, Canada and Australia. She has a wealth of knowledge of the types of speech contests conducted in various countries, and substantial experience in teaching speech writing.
