Online Japanese Education Seminar

Japanese for Communication – A Marugoto Approach

March 29, 2020

As a precaution to slow the spread of COVID-19, we will be holding this Marugoto Seminar online. Participants who have registered for this event will receive a link to the online video conference via email.

In this seminar you will learn about lessons that can be used to increase learners’ competence in accomplishing tasks and competence in intercultural understanding. This seminar will introduce how to cultivate strong speaking skills in students by conducting lessons that emphasise real communication. This method aims to encourage students’ awareness through aural input, which will aid in increasing understanding and help achieve specific communication objectives called “can-do” goals.
Join us in exploring a Marugoto-style approach to communication-based learning through the Japan Foundation’s textbook series “Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture”.

This seminar will also introduce JF online resources with plenty of video content on Japanese culture and speaking activities, and will be full of great everyday tips you can use in your classroom!
