JF日本語教育スタンダードに基づいて開発された『まるごと』シリーズの実践セミナーです。2024年第2回目となる今回は、初級１と２（A2）レベルを対象にします。

　『まるごと』は学習者の「話したい」「話せるようになりたい」気持ちを実現していくコースブックです。音声からのインプットに始まり、様々なトピックや場面の中でコミュニ―ケーションを学びます。本セミナーでは、こうしたコミュニケーションのCan-do目標を軸にした『まるごと』的なアプローチの効果的な教え方について紹介していきます。そして、コミュニケーションにおける「聞く」ことの大切さや、学習者の「わかった」「できた」につながる学びのプロセスについて考えてみたいと思います。

　セミナーでは、『まるごと』の特徴を概観した後、初級２「かつどう」のトピック８「せいかつとエコ」第15課「電気がついたままですよ」を題材にして、「聞きましょう」から「発見しましょう」を経て「話しましょう」へと続く一連の流れを模擬授業を通して学習者の目線で体験してみます。その後、「りかい」につながる文法の学びについても解説します。また、当センターで開講している成人学習者向け日本語講座の実践やプレゼンター自身の経験、トライ＆エラーの中で気づいた学習者へのサポートの仕方や教室における教師の役割についても共有したいと思います。

『まるごと』に限らず、日本語でのコミュニケーションの「できる」を目指すCan-doベースのコースや授業の実践に少しでもお役に立ちましたら幸いです。

This is one in a series of practical seminars based on the JF Standard for Japanese Education-based Marugoto: Japanese Language and Culture series. In our second session of 2024, this seminar will focus on the Elementary 1 and 2 (A2) levels.

Marugoto is a coursebook to actualise students’ feelings of ‘wanting to speak’ and ‘learning to speak’ Japanese, in which they learn communication in a variety of topics and situations by starting from audio input. In this seminar, we will introduce effective teaching methods for the Marugoto approach which is based on “Can-do” communication goals. We will also consider the importance of ‘listening’ in communication, as well as the learning process that leads to students’ ‘understanding’ and ‘can do it.’

In the seminar, after starting with an overview of the Marugoto series’ features, we will then take the Elementary 2 (A2) set’s ‘Katsudoo’ textbook, and utilising Topic 8 ‘Life and Eco-friendly activities’ Lesson 15 ‘The light has been left on’, we will experience a mock lesson from a learner’s point of view. We will move through a sequence of steps, from “Listen”, to “Discover”, and then to “Talk in pairs”. Afterwards, we will explain the study of grammar which is connected to the ‘Rikai’ textbook.

Furthermore, we would like to share the practices in our Japanese language courses for adult learners at The Japan Foundation, Sydney, including the presenter’s own experiences, the awareness born from her trial and errors with ‘how to support students’ as well as the teacher’s role in the Marugoto course.

We hope this session will be useful not only to users of Marugoto, but to any course based on pursuing Japanese communication “can-dos”.

Target	All Japanese language educators (including teaching assistants, private tutors, teacher trainers, etc.) Previous experience using Marugoto* is not required. Particularly recommended for teachers in adult education. Those involved in Japanese language course management are also more than welcome to participate.
