Yomikikase : Japanese Storytime for Children

Bring your children for a fun session of storytelling at our library. Our March storytime session will feature the Hina Matsuri (doll festival) along with a display of our seven-tier doll set. Please don’t miss this rare opportunity to view an authentic doll set outside Japan. Although the level of the selected picture book will best suit 4 to 8-year-olds in the Japanese school education system, this event welcomes all primary and secondary school children who study Japanese-language (any levels) at their school. Children under 12 must be supervised by a guardian.
If you would like to know more about bilingualism in children and heritage language education, a selection of books on these topics will be on display on the day.
児童を対象にした日本語読み聞かせのセッションです。図書館コレクションから選んだ絵本・紙芝居を使い、日本の幼稚園児から小学校低学年児童が楽しめる内容をご用意します。今回はひな祭りをテーマにとりあげ、館内に七段飾りを展示いたします。日本国外でひな人形飾りをご覧いただけるこの機会をお見逃しなく。
またこの機会に、当館の児童書コレクション（約650冊）も是非ご利用ください。また保護者の方が興味を持つテーマとして子供のバイリンガリズムと継承語教育に関する図書を当日ディスプレイします。
ジャパン・ファウンデーション・シドニー図書館では、児童を対象にした日本語読み聞かせイベントをお手伝いいただけるボランティアを複数名募集しています。
ボランティア業務内容は以下の通りです。
- 日本語絵本・紙芝居の読み聞かせ実演（準備作業を含む）
- 工作の指導（準備作業を含む）
- 歌の実演（準備作業を含む）
- 会場設営・撤収作業
お申込みにあたり、以下の要件を満たす必要があります。
- NSW州WWC Numberを保持していること。
WWC (Working With Children) Numberは子どもと接する仕事・ボランティアに就く方には必須となります。ボランティア・カテゴリーでの申請費用は無料です。 - イベント当日に準備・後片付けも含めて3時間ほど業務に就けること。読み聞かせイベントは土曜日（午前10時～午後4時の間）に一～二カ月に一度程度で開催予定です。
- 必要に応じてイベント当日以外にもミーティング、準備作業に参加できること。
